Early 19th Century American History includes the traveling horse and buggy team known as the Medicine
Show, which provided free entertainment and peddled tonics, ointments, elixirs and extracts, which were touted to cure diseases,
prolong life and solve any number of common ailments. Although many of these products were seldom "cure‑alls,"
the medicine show was an important part of performance history and American culture. Times have changed,
but Americans still yearn for the "elixir of life" — the wonderful, "tantalizing-the-taste-buds"
kind of drink.
Taking you back in time to when the medicine shows
brewed their elixirs, we use fresh ingredients, and our tried and true recipes are guaranteed to tantalize your taste buds,
providing the "elixir of life" for your next event. From our signature Ginger Vanilla Sidecar,
to our own Cool as a Cucumber Elixir, to the Agave Nectar Margarita — the possibilities are endless.
Mixologist
Angie Jackson, creator of Ultimate Elixirs, feels the perfect drink is only as good as the ingredients used.
She takes a gourmet approach to classic cocktails, utilizing fresh squeezed juices, homemade syrups and seasonally
fresh ingredients and garnishes. Angie works with each client to create the perfect drink menu
that will tantalize the taste buds of their guests, and leave them feeling like they have just experienced the elixir
of life - the "Ultimate Elixir."
In addition to offering cocktail/spirit consultation, cocktail creation
and design services, Angie offers educational services for spirit distributors and distillers as
well as restaurant/bar and off-premise retail clients. In late 2005, Angie implemented Cocktail Classes for the
Modern Day Gourmet. These classes are designed similar to chef culinary classes, created for social groups, intimate
friendly gatherings, team-building exercises and cocktail parties of 20 guests or less.
We invite
you to explore the world of cocktail mixing. We'll mash, muddle, mix, blend and shake our way through an innovative gourmet
approach to cocktail mixing. Angie will share new and fresh recipes to some classic cocktails and introduce
new elixirs to tantalize your taste buds and leave you confident to plan your next cocktail party. Angie
demonstrates the correct way to mix drinks, how to serve a signature drink for a crowd, discusses new and inventive ideas
for garnishing, basic bar equipment, how to make your own mixers and how to stage a drink area. These classes
are available for private and corporate events as well as being regularly offered at Flavour Cooking School in Forest Park, Illinois and Cooking Fools in Wicker Park neighborhood of Chicago.
Themed educational services and corporate team-building exercises can be tailored to the client’s request as
well as brand marketing, cocktail creation, execution and design.
